Special Lecture with Chef Jung Ji-seon – Opening of the “2025 Busan Youth Employment Plus Academy”

Busan Metropolitan City Mayor Park Heong-joon announced that on the afternoon of September 10, at 3 p.m., the “Starting Point Lecture” will be held in the City Hall Auditorium for about 500 local young people, marking the beginning of the “2025 Busan Youth Employment Plus Academy.”

This special lecture invites Jung Ji-seon, an owner chef specializing in Chinese cuisine, under the theme “Busan Youth Counseling Center with Chef Jung Ji-seon.”

• ●Chef Jung, drawing on her own experiences of challenge and growth, will candidly and sincerely share advice with young people by discussing setbacks and new attempts, career development as a professional woman, as well as entrepreneurship and management stories.

• ●The lecture is expected to provide young people with courage and insights necessary for preparing for their futures.

The “2025 Busan Youth Employment Plus Academy” is a program operated in cooperation between Busan Metropolitan City and nine university Job Plus Centers in the region.

• ●The Academy will be conducted during the 2025 second semester (August 28–September 15) as a regular program at each university. It aims to raise awareness of excellent local companies, referred to as “Youth-Attracting Companies,” and provide systematic employment support programs such as company visits, counseling with employees, mentoring, employment strategy development, and employment strategy competitions, thereby helping to strengthen young people’s practical job-seeking competencies.

<2025 Busan Youth Employment Plus Academy>

• ●Purpose: To resolve job mismatches by improving university students’ awareness of excellent local companies (Youth-Attracting Companies) and enhancing their employment competencies. This initiative is also linked to the Busan Youth Job Growth Project (JOB).

• ●Key Programs: In collaboration with university Job Plus Centers in the Busan region*, the Academy includes programs such as company visits and special lectures by industry professionals to improve perceptions of local companies (Youth-Attracting Companies), guidance on establishing employment strategies, and a competition on strategies for employment in Youth-Attracting Companies.

* University Job Plus Centers: These are comprehensive career and employment support service infrastructures established within universities through public projects led by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Participating universities include Kosin University, Kyungsung University, Pukyong National University, Tongmyong University, Dongseo University, Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, Busan University of Foreign Studies, and Silla University.

Busan Metropolitan City expects that through this special lecture and the Academy program, young people will be able to explore their own career paths, improve their awareness of excellent local companies, and resolve employment mismatches.
