  • Size: A=2,280,000㎡ [land – 1,570,000㎡ (port – 82, railway – 34, hinterland – 37, original downtown – 4), waters – 710,000㎡]
  • Developer: Busan City Consortium (Busan City, Busan Port Authority, Korea Land & Housing Corporation, Busan Metropolitan Corporation, and KORAIL)
  • Project cost: KRW 4.0636 trillion (government expenditure: KRW 304.3 billion, private capital: KRW 3.7593 trillion)

Background

  • Role allocation and function supplementation through differentiation from Buk Port Phase 1 Re-development Project
  • Re-invigoration of stagnant downtown area around Busan Station and Busanjin Station, as well as Jaseongdae Wharf and aging hinterlands
  • New Northern Policy and Eurasia Gate role through construction of complex logistics network

Purpose

  • Develop international interchange hub equipped with global competitiveness
  • Shape a compact, complex city center for fostering the new marine industry
  • Promote connection and win-win development with the original downtown area
  • Shape cultural hub for living together, housing area, and sustainable eco-friendly eco-city
