Auckland is an international tourism city located on the North Island of New Zealand. Taking advantage of its location, more than one million inbound travelers bring in around 2.7 billion dollars, which has driven tourism and job creation. Rosebank is a major industrial area focusing on paint and chemical products located 9km to the west of central Auckland

Since the establishment of sister city relations, Busan and Auckland have actively made personal and administrative exchanges. It also has a sister city relationship with Fukuoka of Japan, which has an administrative partnership with Busan. Mr. Moon Jung-Soo, Mayor of Busan and Mr. Les Mills, Mayor of Auckland signed an agreement to establish sister city relations on April 22, 1996.
