Busan City to Fully Launch “Deullak Nallak Creative Learning Center” Thematic Maker Program Starting in June

Mayor Park Heong-joon of Busan Metropolitan City announced that starting in June, the city will officially operate the “Deullak Nallak Creative Learning Center” program at 38 venues, including the Busan Children’s Cultural Complex Deullak Nallak and Deullak Nallak Connection Spaces.

This program provides a convergence-based creative curriculum where children can freely imagine and create through hands-on maker activities grounded in creativity and innovation. It is conducted at Deullak Nallak centers equipped with excellent play and learning infrastructure and will also be available at affiliated “Deullak Nallak Connection Spaces” such as local child centers.

In 2024, the pilot “Little Makers” program was held at 25 venues with a total of 7,634 participants and a satisfaction rate of 97.3%. This year’s program has been expanded in both scale and quality based on participant feedback.

Program Details

The Deullak Nallak Creative Learning Center features three courses: ▲ Creative Arts, ▲ Creative Science, and ▲ Creative Robotics. Weekend classes include new family-based learning sessions, and all programs are offered free of charge.

• ●Creative Arts and Creative Science: Classes use a variety of creative maker tools and materials to promote active, self-directed learning. Age-appropriate content is offered separately for preschool children and lower-grade elementary students.

• ●Creative Robotics: New in 2025, this pilot program incorporates humanoid robots into lessons to combine cutting-edge technology with emotional and engaging learning.

• ●Family Classes: Introduced this year, these weekend sessions allow children and parents to learn together.

From this year, the program will also expand to Deullak Nallak Connection Spaces, further improving educational accessibility for children across the city.

About Deullak Nallak and Connection Spaces

Deullak Nallak is a flagship program of Busan’s “15-Minute City” initiative, transforming underutilized local spaces into family-friendly multi-purpose complexes. A total of 106 sites have been designated, with 80 already opened.

“Deullak Nallak Connection Spaces” refer to franchised extensions of the program held at local childcare centers and child-related facilities, allowing broader access to Deullak Nallak’s premium educational content. Programs such as “Creative Learning Center” and “Let’s Play English” are operated to support children in low-income households and improve learning conditions.
