Busan City Recruits Participants for “I Am a Lecturer!” – A Program to Select and Train Leading Economic Education Instructors

Busan Metropolitan City announced today that it will recruit participants for the economic education instructor selection and training program, “I Am a Lecturer!”, from April 7 to April 21.

The “I Am a Lecturer!” program aims to foster and select outstanding economic education instructors through a competitive training process, nurturing experts who can help citizens engage in sound economic activities and better understand economic concepts.

Now in its third year, the program is designed to identify and train instructors who can deliver high-quality economic education to the public. The program is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the Busan Regional Center for Economic Education, under the Busan Development Institute.

This year, the program expands opportunities for citizens by allowing anyone interested in becoming an economic education instructor to participate in training sessions to strengthen their teaching capabilities.

Applicants will undergo two rounds of evaluation:

• 1.Instructor Capability Enhancement Training

• 2.Video Lecture Demonstration and Evaluation

Those who score 80 points or higher in the video demonstration will be selected as instructors affiliated with the Center for 2025.

The top 5 participants from the video demonstration will advance to a final competition involving on-site lecture demonstrations scheduled for June. Each finalist will deliver a 15-minute live lecture, and rankings will be determined based on performance.

The top 5 instructors will receive certificates of merit, including the Busan Mayor’s Award, and will be appointed as representative instructors for the Busan Regional Center for Economic Education, with access to various opportunities to build their teaching careers.

Selected instructors will also be guaranteed a minimum number of lecture hours per year.

Anyone aged 18 or older interested in becoming an economic education instructor can apply by sending an email to huiyahuny1@bdi.re.kr between April 7 and April 21.

Through this program, the City expects to secure a wide range of economic education content and will continue to develop a robust network of qualified instructors to strengthen the foundation of economic education in Busan.

With its multi-phase evaluation process—including video lecture assessments and live teaching demonstrations—the program aims to ensure the selection of skilled instructors capable of delivering high-quality economic education.
