Urban Oases ③ Dadaepo / Ilgwang and Imnang
source: visitbusanReady to dash across hot sand and dive into cool waves? All seven of Busan's beaches will officially be open on July 1, inviting visitors to soak up the sun, splash in the surf and bask in the city's signature summer vibe. Busan's beaches offer much more than swimming and sunbathing. From dynamic music festivals to peaceful sunsets, each one has its unique charm.🌊 Dadaepo BeachNestled at the mouth of the Nakdonggang River on the western edge of the city, Dadaepo Beach offers warm, shallow waters and a family-friendly vibe. The beach also offers natural wonders that the other beaches lack. Bring the kids to chase crabs and dig for clams in the area's tidal flats, or take a walk on Morundae Peninsula, a national geopark offering dense pine forests and a coastal landscape with unique rock formations.Kids also love running through the dancing jets of water at the Sunset Fountain of Dreams. The real magic begins at sunset, when the sky overhead turns into a blue, violet and pink painting. Take it all in atop a standup paddleboard for a view you'll never forget.🌊 Ilgwang and ImnangLooking for peace and quiet? Head to Gijang-gun County, where Ilgwang and Imnang beaches offer tranquil escapes from the city.Ilgwang Beach's 2-kilometer arc of golden sand is perfect for long walks, lazy lounging or seaside picnics. Imnang Beach, a 15-minute drive away, charms visitors with its pine forest, soft sand and crystal-clear water. It's the kind of beach people secretly hope to keep to themselves.<Today's Vocabulary - 오늘의 단어>sunbathing: 일광욕 shallow: 얕은 geopark: 지질공원 dense: 빽빽한 pine: 소나무 tranquil: 평온한 escape: 도피 Editor: Song SoomiCopy Editors: Ryu Hyoseung, Anton J. 2025 Seven Bridges Tour: Ride across Busan on September 21□ The Seven Bridges Tour is Korea’s only large-scale, friendly cycling event that connects ▲ four sea bridges, ▲ two underpasses, and ▲ one tunnel into a stunning loop around Busan. Far from the competitiveness of standard races, it invites bike enthusiasts to soak in the breathtaking convergence of sea, mountains, rivers, and the cityscape all from the seat of a bicycle.○ The 77-kilometer circuit begins at BEXCO, passes through ▲ Gwangandaegyo Bridge, ▲ Sinseondae Underpass, ▲ Busanhangdaegyo Bridge, ▲ Namhangdaegyo Bridge, ▲ Cheonma Tunnel, ▲ Jangpyeong Underpass, ▲ Eulsukdodaegyo Bridge, then turns around at ▲ Maekdo Ecological Park before heading back to Gwangandaegyo Bridge.○ On the day of the event morning vehicle access will be temporarily restricted. Cyclists will have a rare opportunity to ride across marine bridges that are normally closed to non-motorized traffic—a truly exclusive occasion in Busan.□ A wide array of engaging features will also appeal to both locals and travelers.○ In the morning, the upper deck of Gwangandaegyo Bridge will be open to the public free of charge for ▲ a parade, ▲ a BMX stunt show, and ▲ a gourmet fair in connection with Festival Shiwol. Food trucks run by Michelin-starred chefs will be on-site, and a special cultural welcome package will be provided to the first 1,500 pre-registered international guests.○ In the vicinity of BEXCO, additional family-focused offerings will take place: ▲ a bicycle maintenance workshop, ▲ a traffic awareness campaign, and ▲ a bike safety class for children.□ Early bird booking will start on July 16, 2025, with general sign-ups opening on July 22. Further information will be released soon.○ Proceeds will go entirely toward safety measures, convenience amenities, staffing, and other operational requirements.ㅇ(Name) Seven Bridges Tourㅇ(Date Time) Sunday, September 21, 2025, 07:00–11
