The program includes four insightful sessions held in Chamber Hall.Each lecture highlights one of four influential composers—Ravel, Schubert, Bizet, and Bach—and delves into the essence of art and the emotional currents underlying their signature works. Led by music critics and culture-sector professionals, the series invites audiences to experience each composer’s world through nuanced interpretation and contextual storytelling. The program unfolds across four sessions:- On Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m., music critic Moonkyung Kim opens the series with a lecture on Ravel’s “Boléro,” focusing on the theme “A Dance Beyond Time.”- On Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m., critic Seungin Na follows with a session on Schubert’s “Winterreise.”- On Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m., Jongho Park, head of Pungwoldang, an institution specializing in classical music lectures and recordings, explores the enduring appeal of Bizet’s “Carmen” under the theme “A Stage of Love and Destiny.”- On Dec. 20 at 11 a.m., critic Hee-chang Cho concludes the series with a lecture titled “Bach: The Beginning and the End of Music,” offering a comprehensive interpretation of the composer’s oeuvre.Each session costs 30,000 won and can accommodate 200 attendees. Waves of Starlight Flowing in through Haeundae! Haeundae Light FestivalThe 12th Haeundae Light Festival will be held from November 29 to January 18 next year, beginning with the lighting ceremony and taking place along Gunam–ro and Haeundae Beach. The theme of this year’s festival is “Stellar Haeundae,” and it is represented by “waves of starlight flowing in.”The festival will feature a breathtaking scene where starlight flows like waves along Gunam–ro and extends toward the night sea off Haeundae. A Starlight Gate will welcome visitors at the entrance of Gunam–ro, and the Stellar Wave Zone, depicting waves of light rolling toward the sea, will illuminate the street.In the center of Gunam–ro, a 4–meter–high three–dimensional star sculpture symbolizing the brilliant explosion of a star will be installed. This year’s large Christmas tree on Gunam–ro will feature three different sizes – 3m, 5m, and 8m – decorated with charming ornaments to enhance the festive atmosphere of Christmas and the New Year season.• Starlight Square for Fun Participation and ExperiencesAt the Event Square on Haeundae Beach, the Starlight Square will be open daily from 6pm to 10pm, offering hands–on experiences such as sand art, line art, and pedal–powered bicycles.During the Christmas season, a photo booth program will also be available, offering free prop rentals for visitors to capture memorable moments.• Haeundae Universe Zone Adorning the Night SeaOn the Haeundae Beach sand, a 10–meter–tall installation will serve as a canvas for media art displays.
