  • Article 1 (Purpose)
  • The purpose of this Ordinance is to prescribe matters necessary to support crisis pregnancy and protected childbirth, thereby supporting healthy childbirth for women in crisis pregnancy and creating a safe parenting environment for their children.
  • Article 2 (Definitions)
  • The terms used in this Ordinance shall be as defined in Article 2 of the Special Act on Crisis Pregnancy and Protected Childbirth Support and Child Protection (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”).
  • Article 3 (Responsibilities of the Mayor)
  • The Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City (hereinafter referred to as the “Mayor”) shall devise necessary policies to promote the rights and welfare of pregnant women or nursing mothers in crisis and their children.
  • Article 4 (Support projects)
  • The Mayor may, within budgetary limits, support the following projects for pregnant women or nursing mothers in crisis and their children:
    • 1. Counseling and provision of information related to childbirth and parenting for women in crisis pregnancy, and to child protection;
    • 2. Health and medical support for women in crisis pregnancy;
    • 3. Support for legal services for women in crisis pregnancy;
    • 4. Support for protected childbirth for pregnant women or nursing mothers in crisis and measures for child protection;
    • 5. Support for parenting for pregnant women or nursing mothers in crisis and their children, and linkage to services;
    • 6. Other projects the Mayor deems necessary to protect the rights and interests of pregnant women or nursing mothers in crisis and their children.
  • Article 5 (Designation and operation of local counseling agencies)
  • (1) For the performance of duties to support pregnant women or nursing mothers in crisis and to protect their children, the Mayor may, under Article 6 (2) of the Act, designate local counseling agencies.
  • (2) The Mayor may subsidize, within budgetary limits, expenses necessary for the operation of local counseling agencies designated under paragraph (1).
  • Article 6 (Duty of confidentiality)
  • A person who is engaged in or has been engaged in duties related to support for pregnant women or nursing mothers in crisis and the protection of their children shall not divulge confidential information learned in the course of performing such duties.
  • Article 7 (Establishment of a cooperation system)
  • To support pregnant women or nursing mothers in crisis and create a safe parenting environment for their children, the Mayor may establish a cooperation system with relevant institutions or organizations for information sharing, publicity activities, etc.
