Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance on Commission and Management of Interpreter
- Article 1 (Purposes)
- The purpose of this Ordinance is to provide for the necessary matters to commission and manage the Busan Metropolitan City interpreter (hereinafter referred to as the "interpreter").
- Article 2 (Commission)
- The Mayor of the Busan Metropolitan City(hereinafter referred to as the "Mayor") may commission 10 interpreters or so among the interpreter license holders or any person who is deemed to have qualification corresponding thereto, regionally as like English, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, French, Spanish, German, etc.
- Article 3 (Interpretation)

The interpreter shall, in case where the Mayor requests consultation on
the following matters, correspond to the request of interpretation or
consultation:
- 1. Face to face meeting with major foreign figure;
- 2. Event including international conference, forum, etc.; and
- 3. Other matters concerning international relationship business.
- Article 4 (Terms of Commission)
(1) The term of office of the interpreter shall be one year, and he/she
shall be deemed to be recommissioned unless there is any notice of
termination of commission separately.
- (2) The Mayor may, if it is deemed that any interpreter works insincerely or his/her performance of respondence to the request of interpretation or consultation is poor, terminate the commission notwithstanding the terms of commission.
- Article 5 (Interpretation Performance Record)
- The Mayor shall record and keep the interpretation performance record under the attached Form 1 on the matters on which he/she requested interpretation or consultation under Article 3.
- Article 6 (Allowances)
- The interpreter may be paid interpretation allowances under the attached Table 1 within the limit of the budget.
- Article 7 (Providing Material)
(1) A briefing session on city administration shall be held more than once
per year to enhance the interpreter's understanding of city administration.
- (2) In case where the interpreter requests any material necessary for interpretation, the department concerned shall provide related material.
