Enhanced Distancing Rules (Level 2) in the Busan Area Extended for two more weeks until October 11, 2020
Social Distancing Level 2 for the entire country has been extended to October 11, 2020. The City of Busan stresses the critical importance of public participation to contain the spread of COVID-19 and asks the public for continued participation in following Social Distancing Level 2 guidelines.
The City of Busan will consider adjusting the level of social distancing on a one or two-week basis according to the risks associated with the spread of COVID-19.

Assemblies/Gatherings/Events: Ban on assemblies/gatherings/events of 50 or more indoors and 100 or more outdoors
Administrative order banning small and medium-sized gatherings of an unspecified number of people for investment briefings and unregistered door-to-door sales companies and multi-level marketing companies related business information sessions (Sep. 4 ~ until further notice)

The City of Busan has issued an administrative order banning gatherings at door-to-door sales and multi-marketing companies in all business sectors that begins on September 24, 2020 at 00:00.
Educational meetings, promotions, seminars and all other activities of door-to-door sales businesses, regardless of their formal titles, will be prohibited under the order which applies to any business gatherings at unlicensed rental locations and sellers operating in Busan but registered in other regions.
However, the city will allow gatherings of less than 20 people indoors or 50 people outdoors that follow the key quarantine rules at registered establishments.
Sporting Events: Switch to non-spectator games

Public
○ Indoor national and public facilities, as well as public sports facilities, are allowed to open to the public during the Chuseok holiday. The pre-reservation with limited visitors is required. All visitors must wear a face mask before entering the facility and comply with the strict quarantine guidelines.
Private

Establishment of 24-hour Emergency Medical Response System for Quarantine/Medical Services
Busan Metropolitan City will operate COVID-19 Screening Centers and the Busan Research Institute of Public Health and Environment during the Chuseok holiday.
Busan Toll Roads to Collect Tolls during Chuseok Holiday
In previous years, the city government removed tolls on highways during Chuseok and Lunar New Year. However, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the government has decided that tolls will remain in place for highways during the Chuseok holidays. As such, toll roads in Busan, including Geoga Bridge and Gwangandaegyo Bridge, will still be collecting tolls from drivers during the Chuseok holiday.
The city is planning to use the full amount of the toll income over the Chuseok holidays to support small businesses in the city.
Visits at Assisted-living Hospitals and Elderly Care Facilities Prohibited
However, when it is inevitable, pre-reservation for visits is required and indoor facility visits are prohibited.
Thorough Disinfection of Traditional Markets and Logistics Facilities
Request for regular disinfection of traditional markets and organize quarantine inspection teams.
Inspection of the status of quarantine management at logistics facilities and guidance on quarantine management of delivery personnel
Cancellation of all cultural events and performances at public cultural and sports facilities during Chuseok
Management staff will be placed at 350 tourism attractions in Busan to inform tourists and citizens of COVID-19 social distancing rules.
Maintaining Restrictions on Gatherings at Religious Facilities
Public Banned from Visiting National Cemeteries during Chuseok
National cemeteries across the Republic of Korea will be closed to the public during the Chuseok holidays (Sep. 30 to Oct. 4) as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Yeongnak Park and Memorial Park will temporarily close from September 30 to October 4, 2020 during the Chuseok holidays. Except over the Chuseok holidays, parks will open during limited hours between September 26 and October 11 through a reservation system.
During memorial services for the enshrined, the ceremonial room and the family lounge will be closed and bringing in water and eating indoors will be prohibited.
Private tombs and cemeteries in Busan will also temporarily close from September 30 to October 4, 2020 during the Chuseok holidays.
KDCA and the Busan Metropolitan City requested the public to stay home and avoid traveling for the upcoming Chuseok holiday for the health and safety of loved ones.
Since the elderly are at higher risk of developing a severe illness if affected by COVID-19, KDCA encourages families to communicate with elderly parents this year through video chats instead of paying a visit in person.
1,781 daycare centers in Busan are ordered to close.
*Maintain essential services, such as emergency childcare services.
Schools
○ The number of students in attendance should be lowered to one-third of the overall student population.
* For high schools, it is set at two-thirds of the overall student population.
Religious facilities
All churches in Busan are permitted to provide only non-face-to-face services (in case it is difficult to provide online services, a limit of 50 people per regular worship service is permitted) and all religious facilities are prohibited to hold any kind of face-to-face meetings and events, as well as group meals.
If churches choose to have regular worship service, please wear masks at all times, keep a distance of 2 meters, replace singing instruments and keep an entry log of all visitors.
Institutions/Businesses
Public
○ Limit the number of employees at the workplace by adopting flexible work schedules and working from home. (Keep two-thirds of the total number of employees at the workplace at the same time.)
Private
○ Recommendation is to limit the number of employees at the workplace to the same level as public institutions.
Beaches
The seven public beaches, which had been originally scheduled to remain open until August 31st, have closed down earlier on August 21 00:00. Millak Waterfront Park has been closed since August 21 00:00.
Public Guidance for Level 2 Social Distancing
➀ Do not go to work if feeling sick
- Call KDCA call center by dialing 1339 or contact a local public health center or screening clinic
➁ Postpone or cancel non-essential outings, social gatherings, events, or travel
- Essential travel includes receiving medical care, buying necessities, or going to work
- At restaurants or cafes, order takeout rather than dining in
- Home training is recommended in place of going to gyms
- For social activities, utilize PCs or smartphones to conduct online meetings
- Use online shopping rather than physical stores
➂ If going out, wear a mask and follow the infection prevention guidelines
- Do not visit crowded, confined, and close-contact places with poor ventilation
- Wear a mask indoors as well as outdoors whenever 2m distancing can’t be maintained
- Maintain physical distance from other people (2m recommended, 1m minimum)
- No droplet-producing activities, such as shouting, singing out loud, or chanting
- No physical contact with others, such as handshakes or hugs
