Busan Child Protection Center to Hold ‘I Love My Child’ Parental Education Discussion Meeting

The Busan Child Protection Center (hereinafter referred to as "the Center") announced that it will hold a discussion meeting on June 26 at 3:00 PM at the Medium Conference Room of the Busan Autonomous Police Committee, located on the 18th floor of the National Pension Service Building.

The ‘I Love My Child’ Parental Education Program is designed for parents who have been reported for child abuse. In the early stages, they are referred from local police stations to the Center, where professional counselors provide education aimed at preventing recurrence and improving awareness.

○ The program’s professional counselors hold certifications in various fields such as child psychology, family counseling, and possess hands-on experience in conducting counseling and education sessions for parents and children in the field.

○ The discussion meeting will be attended by officials from the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, Abuse Prevention Officers (APOs) from each precinct, and professional counselors, with a total of approximately 30 participants. The session will include an overview of the program, discussion on possible improvements, collection of participant feedback, and exploration of ways to enhance program effectiveness.

Won Se-yeon, Director of the Busan Child Protection Center, stated:

“Education connected to real-world fieldwork and customized support tailored to diverse family environments are becoming increasingly important in preventing child abuse. We will listen closely to the voices of field experts such as police officers and counselors to ensure children can grow up safe and happy.”
