On March 24, Busan City signed an agreement with Korea Digital University regarding the “Multi-Cultural Family e-Learning Campaign” project intended to help marriage migrants to learn the Korean language and understand Korean culture.

This e-campaign project is an online learning system, which offers content about Korean language and culture in 7 languages (Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, Mongolian, Vietnamese and Thai), established by financial support from POSCO, and administrative support from the Ministry of Gender Equality and local autonomous entities.

After the public servants and home visiting consultants, who occupationally support marriage migrants’ families, are trained in how to utilize the e-learning site for three months from April until June, they will then educate marriage migrants about the e-learning system and promote the site.

Marriage migrants and their family can log in to http://e-campaign.kdu.edu and take the free courses. They will receive a certificate if they complete certain courses.

Moreover, Korea Digital University plans to expand the multi-language services about Korean language and culture, and develop various world culture contents, thus providing multi-cultural learning opportunities to marriage migrants and their families.
