The city of Busan announced special plans to aid citizens to enjoy New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Some streets in Busan will be closed to vehicles and more public transportation will be running for quicker and safer traveling for visitors and participants.

“The New Year Sunrise Watch" is a traditional event when many people watch the first sunrise of the year to make wishes. It will be on the Gwangan Grand Bridge on New Year's Day. Vehicles will not be permitted on the both sides of the bridge from four o’clock in the morning until 11 o’clock in the morning, and pedestrians will be allowed for four hours from five o’clock in the morning.

The streets around Gwananli Beach will also be closed, open only for pedestrians for three hours from six o’clock in the morning.

However, Nurimaru, the APEC House where the 2005 APEC conference was held, will not be open to the public during the sunrise event.

The city of Busan is planning to operate more public buses and subways with extended operating hours for "2005 Citizens Bell Event," on New Year's Eve as well.
