‘Enjoy the sea and cheer for the World Cup.’

This coming June, Haeundae beach, an international tourist attraction in Busan, is expected to be covered with red all over. The Busan Haeundae District Office is preparing for massive cheering parties on Haeundae's white beach beginning June 13th when the first match in the finals of the 2006 Germany World Cup will be held.

Various events, including a grand-scale rock festival, will be presented six hours prior to the match and will attract citizens and approximately 100,000 tourists in red to Haeundae beach. The sandy place will overflow with a red wave that will be nothing short of spectacular.

The district office has arranged a king-sized screen that will be bigger than a movie screen and has prepared events on the white sand, including shooting goals as a prayer for victory and a dance competition. During half time of the match, popular K-pop singers will present a celebratory performance, and fireworks will brighten up the beach at the end of the match. It will be the one of the most memorable moments for everybody.

Currently, the office is making arrangements with popular TV celebrities for the big event and has contacted the Busan subdivision of the Red Devils to lead reinforcements systematically.

Persons from the district office said that this event will be just as good as the heated atmosphere of the 2002 World Cup in Gwang-hwa Gate in Seoul, and that it continues a festival of wild excitement in Busan this year.
