The Busan Foundation for International Activities(BFIA) encourages the efforts of foreign communities in Busan by supporting their events. The program will provide an opportunity for at least 22 foreign communities to receive a maximum of 500,000won each when they host a cultural event.
The goal is not only to offer opportunities for foreigners living in Busan, but also to allow citizens in Busan to partake in a variety of foreign cultural activities, making Busan a truly global city.
In 2013, BFIA supported various events held in 27 different foreign communities, such as the Busan International Women Association’s donation event, a traditional performance by Indonesian students, a Mongolian basketball competition, among many others.
Those seeking support should visit the BFIA website at (www.bfia.or.kr) and fill out the request form to enter their community event. Those seeking approval should note the following:
(1) Events should be non-profit
(2) Communities receiving support by the BFIA must submit an event plan which includes a list of events, scheduling, etc.
(3) Recipients must also submit a report detailing the results of their community events including photos no later than one week after the event.
