A scene from Busan City’s popular video “Fiery Friday night in Busan”
Busan City’s YouTube channel (youtube.com/DynamicBusan) will link with social networking services every Monday until the end of this year and hold various events for visitors. For instance, it is easy to visit Busan’s Facebook page (facebook.com/BusanCity) or English-language site (facebook.com/DynamicBusan) to answer quizzes about YouTube videos.
Three lucky winners will receive mobile gift certificates for coffee worth 4,000 won ($3.65) from the city for trying out the event. Participants who live in locations outside of Korea will receive a free copy of the city’s English-language newspaper Dynamic Busan.
Busan’s official YouTube channel opened in May 2012 and features videos about the Busan International Film Festival, Busan’s Centum City (the “Manhattan of Korea”), Gamcheon Culture Village (the “Santorini of Korea”) and other captivating tourist destinations. The clips offer a variety of information on the city for residents and tourists alike.
The English-language Facebook page for Busan currently boasts 29,770 friends and along with other social media efforts helps Busan City relay news to the world.
