The Korea Stock Exchange, the Korea Futures Exchange, the Kosdaq Stock Market and the Kosdaq Committee will jointly hold an international seminar on Friday in Busan to commemorate the merger of the nation’s stock and futures exchanges.

Ahead of the launching of the merged exchange by the end of this year, the four securities-related institutions will invite executives from global stock and futures exchanges to discuss the future of Korea’s new merged entity and development of the domestic derivatives market.

Singapore Exchange’s chief executive Hsieh Fu Hua and Euronext’s executive director Patrick Stephan will attend the seminar to present their views on the internationalization of exchanges and development strategies for Korea’s new exchange.

Scott Robinson, managing director at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and Christopher Eoyang, managing director at Goldman Sachs, will also participate in the event to share their views on the international and Korea’s derivatives market.

The seminar will be held at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO), located in the southern port city.
