The KDCA and Busan Metropolitan City have requested that the public stay home and avoid traveling during the upcoming Chuseok holiday for the health and safety of loved ones.

Special Quarantine Measures during the Chuseok Holiday (Sept. 13-26, 2021)

1. Visit your parents or relatives during the Chuseok holiday after completing vaccination or getting a COVID-19 PCR test if gathering with a small number of people.

It is strongly recommended against visiting parents who are over the age of 60 who have not received both vaccine shots yet.

2. Under the measures, from Sept. 17 to 23, up to eight family members will be allowed to gather only at home if the group includes four fully vaccinated individuals. (multi-use facilities within the areas under social distancing level 4 are excluded.)

3. Train ticket sales for window seats only, no exemptions from highway tolls during the Chuseok holidays, coastal ferry capacity set at 50%

4. Recommended to use online memorial services instead of visiting ancestral graves during the Chuseok holiday.

6. From Sept. 13 through 26, visits to nursing homes will be allowed across the country regardless of the social distancing measures in place. In-person visits are allowed only when both the patient and visitor have been fully vaccinated, while in other cases the visits should be non-contact ones such as through a transparent barrier.

7. COVID-19 screening centers, infectious disease specialty hospitals will operate regularly during the Chuseok holiday.

Free COVID-19 testing will be available at community health centers and temporary COVID-19 screening stations in Busan during the Chuseok holiday.
