‘Global Greening’ event: Gwangandaegyo Bridge to Turn Green for St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th

Busan’s landmark Gwangandaegyo Bridge will turn green for two hours to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, 2017 starting at 7:00p.m.
Gwangandaegyo Bridge joined the annual “Global Greening” event hosted by the Embassy of Ireland in Korea for the first time in 2017.
The annual “Global Greening” event is Tourism Ireland’s unique global campaign to see a host of major landmarks around the world turn green for St Patrick’s Day. The campaign has grown stronger and stronger, with lots of new landmarks signing up to take part this year.
About 190 famous attractions and sites around the world, including Seoul's Some Sevit in ROK; The Colosseum in Rome, Italy; Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy; London Eye, Nelson’s Column in London, Great Britain and Christ the Redeemer statue, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil participated in the event in 2016. The new landmarks for 2017 include: One World Trade Center (formerly Freedom Tower) in New York, Heron Tower in London, Gwangandaegyo Bridge (Diamond Bridge) in Busan and many more.
The Gwangandaegyo Bridge will be illuminated with green lights and a St Patrick’s Day greeting message will be displayed. Embassies of Ireland from around the world and Irish social media will also be promoting the event in real time. Foreign and national tourists, as well as residents in Busan can enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day celebration with wonderful displays of green at the Gwangandaegyo Bridge at Gwangalli Beach.
