Busan City sends interns to companies, hosts cultural exchange
Busan City is strengthening its relationship with Houston, one of the largest cities of the United States. Since their exchange agreement in May, the two cities have been strengthening their exchange activities.
Busan City and Houston are constructing a shipping equipment cooperation complex and joint facility in Gangseo-gu District, Mieum Industrial Complex, to boost the marine plant industry. As the site will be ready by December the joint facility construction will be completed by August of next year. Based on the shipping marine plant, the two cities are planning to reinforce its overseas exchange in R&D.
The two cities will also focus on expanding private exchange.
Busan City will cooperate closely with the Korean organizations and other committees in Houston and send interns to local companies, taking active measures in exchange activities. Also to promote a more friendly relationship with the Korean organizations in Houston, Busan City is operating the “Houston-Busan sisterhood city promotion committee” (working name).
Through active activities with Korean organization, commerce and trade organization of Koreans and Korean business association, it is planning to play the role of a bridge between Busan and Houston. Busan City is also planning to send over students and interns to local companies in Houston.
In addition, Busan and Houston will agree on exchange activities for teenagers, conduct private exchange between students and schools and have homestay activities so the cities’ teens can learn about the traditional culture and study a foreign language.
