An expo of the world’s shipbuilding and maritime industries, Marine Week 2013, was held at Bexco in Busan from October 22 to 25.

The exhibition, held biennially since 2001, is a combination of three different events: the Naval & Defence exhibit, the Sea-Port exhibit and the Kormarine exhibit.

A total of 1,590 companies from 55 countries took part in the fair, sponsored by the Republic of Korea Navy, the city of Busan and the Korea International Trade Association. Twelve nations including the United States, Britain and Germany, had their own booth. Including the outdoor displays, a total of 2,420 booths welcomed visitors from across the world.

The Sea-Port exhibit saw displays from Korean and foreign port authorities, shipping companies, designers of port-automation systems and radio-frequency identification equipment makers, a technology used to track containers. Forklift, crane and logistics equipment makers and makers of container transportation systems were on display, too.
