Busan coastal beltway connecting seven bridges due for completion

The tentatively named Bukhang Bridge decks were all connected on June 24th. It has taken six years and two months since construction started in April 2007.
The 3331-meter multi-lane Bukhang Bridge connects Gamman-dong, Nam-gu and Cheonghak-dong, Yeongdo-gu. In April 2014, the 52-km Busan Coastal Beltway connecting seven sea bridges ？ Gwangan Bridge, Bukhang Bridge, Namhang Bridge, Eulsukdo Bridge, Shinho Bridge, Gadeok Bridge and Geoga Bridge ？ will be complete.
The Busan Coastal Beltway has been named the ‘Bridge of Busan’, and its nickname is ‘Rainbow’, from its seven bridges. The road, which traverses the whole Busan coast, is expected to be the main artery to take logistics and the tourism industry a step further, not only in Busan but also in the southern coast of Korea.
Busan City plans to make the ‘Bridge of Busan’ a tourist attraction, with special facilities like bungee jumping at Gwangan Bridge, a bridge museum at Bukhang Bridge, an observatory café at Namhang Bridge, a migratory bird observatory at Eulsukdo Bridge, and a cascade fountain at Geoga Bridge. This project will begin in 2014.
