A bicycle path has been installed on the reclaimed land in Yongho Bay, Yongho-dong. Nam-gu District announced the completion of a 796-meter long bicycle-only path and a 942-meter long combined bicycle and pedestrian lane on the road, built by the Construction Headquarters of Busan Metropolitan City on reclaimed land in Yongho Bay to ease traffic congestion around the No. 49 Square in Yongho-dong.

In addition, a green space between the car lanes and the pedestrian lane provides for greater safety for bicycle riders.

Nam-gu District had previously completed a 1.2 kilometer bicycle path between LG Metro Apartment Complex and Kyungsung Univ. / Pukyong Nat’l Univ. Subway Station (Line 2) in July 2009 as the city’s first pilot project of its kind, as well as 5 sections measuring a total of 2.5 kilometers of combined bicycle and pedestrian lanes around the LG Metro Apartment Complex. With other lanes completed since then, and now the new additions, there are 2 bicycle-only sections measuring 1.99 kilometers and 8 combined bicycle and pedestrian sections measuring 6.88 kilometers in Nam-gu District.

“The new bicycle path has been built along the coastline, so cyclists can see the Gwangan Bridge (or Diamond Bridge), which is one of the best attractions in Busan.” said a Nam-gu District official, who addedThe waterfront park is equipped with rest areas, exercise facilities and bicycle park racks. We expect these will help to make it a popular place for local residents.”
