Business leaders from Korea and Japan will gather in Busan in April to discuss economic issues pertaining to both nations.
The Korea-Japan Economic Association said Sunday (March 25) it will hold a meeting for economic leaders' from Korea and Japan in Busan, Korea's largest port city, from April 12 to 13.
This Korea-Japan business association meeting has been held annually since the first gathering in 1969.
In the upcoming meeting, 300 leading businesspeople from the two sides will gather to have in-depth discussions about pending economic issues involving the two countries.
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy Kwon O-kyu and Noboru Hatakeyama, the president of the Japan External Trade Organization, will deliver keynote speeches on the rise of East Asia and Korea-Japan economic cooperation. Businesspeople, economists and researchers will also deliver presentations during the two-day meeting.
In all, 150 Korean businesspeople, including Federation of Korean Industries Chairman Cho Suk-rae and KITA CEO Lee Hee-Beom, will meet with the 150-strong Japanese delegation headed by Iijima Hidetane, president of the Japan-Korea Economic Association.
Representatives from Toyota Motor Corporation and Asahi Breweries will also attend the meeting. The participants will issue a joint statement in the closing ceremony at the end of the meeting.
