FAU Busan campus announces historic first class of 25 students

Germany's Friedrich Alexander University of Eerlangen-Nuremberg 's Busan branch campus-located in the Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone officially announced the recruitment of 25 students for the 2011 Spring semester.

 

Professor Thomas Neesse, current President of FAU Busan branch campus, aims to recruit 50 students per year in the life sciences field including Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Mechanical Process Engineering, Environmental Process Engineering, Fluid Mechanics and Separation Science & Technology  in  the  Chemical  and  Bioengineering  department;  the  first  class  including  25 students will begin classes in the Spring of 2011.

 

The  2011  class  will  be  eligible  for  first-semester  scholarships  covering  tuition  fees  from Korean or German funding institutions while additional grants for furthering research will be available for students who express the desire and motivation to achieve results.

 

FAU  Busan  is  the  BJFEZ’s  first  f oreign  educational  institution  and  is  one  of  the  first German university campuses in Asia. With a faculty of 32 members, the campus offers the same  curriculum,  all  taught  in  English,  offering  the  same  high-quality  Master’s  degrees  as graduates from the Eerlangen-Nuremberg campus.

 

FAU expects its program to assist domestic graduates to cope with the unemployment crisis and  successfully  find  employment  with  private  sector  partners  through  FAU’s  industry-university co-op program in fundamental and applied research.
