추석연휴 생활정보 안내

Observed on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, Chuseok, also known as Hangawi, is one of Korea’s major traditional holidays, along with Seollal (Lunar New Year’s Day). It is a time for families to come together and give thanks for the autumn harvest. According to the lunar calendar, the harvest moon, traditionally regarded as the largest full moon of the year, appears on this day.

In 2026, Chuseok falls on Friday, September 25. Although the Chuseok holiday usually spans three days, it extends to four days this year, from Thursday, September 24, through Sunday, September 27. During this period, many Koreans travel to their hometowns to spend time with family, pay respects to their ancestors, and take part in traditional holiday customs.
