Stepping Up Efforts to Attract International Students: Campus Tour for Education Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, Kazakhstan

□ From August 19 to 24, 2025, Busan Metropolitan City, in cooperation with the Busan Global City Foundation, will host a campus tour for a group of 26 attendees from the Education Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, Kazakhstan, as part of its ongoing endeavors to expand international student recruitment.

○ This marks the second invitation extended to the Almaty Education Center, following an initial visit in January. Founded in 1991, before diplomatic ties were formally recognized between Korea and Kazakhstan, the Almaty Education Center has played a pivotal role in language and cultural exchange.

○ Honor students from high school and college-level Korean language classes have been selected to explore pathways for studying abroad in Busan.

□ Opportunities to appreciate Busan’s natural scenery, historical sites, and cultural landmarks will further help invitees develop a deeper connection with the city.

□ Last July, Busan welcomed 16 officials and students from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to five local schools, and this September, will co-organize study-abroad events in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and Almaty, Kazakhstan with the Eurasia City Diplomatic Corps.

○ The effort aims to actively highlight the advantages of pursuing higher education in Busan to talented individuals across Central Asia.
