Busan Metropolitan City Appoints Senior Official Ha Min-sang as New Assistant Mayor of Planning and Coordination Office

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Chun Jae-soo) has appointed Ha Min-sang, Director of the Operations Support Division at the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, as the new Assistant Mayor of Planning and Coordination Office, effective October 26.

Ha Min-sang, the newly appointed Assistant Mayor of Planning and Coordination Office, has strong ties to the Busan region. He graduated from Hyekwang High School in Busan and the Department of Public Administration at Yonsei University. After passing the 47th Higher Civil Service Examination, he began his public service career in 2004.

Ha has held a range of key positions in the central government, including serving in the Office of the Secretary to the President for Local Administration and Autonomy at the Office of the President. At the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, he served as Director of the Resident Participation and Collaboration Division, Director of the Legal Affairs Division, and Director of the Awards and Decorations Division. Most recently, he served as Director of the Operations Support Division at the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials.

Drawing on his experience in policy formulation and coordination at central government ministries, Ha is expected to play a key role in aligning the implementation of Busan Metropolitan City's major policies and strengthening cooperation with the central government.

Mayor Chun Jae-soo stated, "The newly appointed Assistant Mayor of Planning and Coordination Office, Ha Min-sang, has developed extensive policy expertise through his involvement in the planning and coordination of major government policies. We expect him to play an important role in closely aligning central government policy directions with Busan's development strategies and enhancing the implementation of major priority projects."
