Busan Agricultural Technology Center to Offer Second-Half Brush Cutter Maintenance, Inspection, and Safe-Use Training

The Busan Agricultural Technology Center will offer its Second-Half Brush Cutter Maintenance, Inspection, and Safe-Use Training program to help prevent agricultural machinery accidents and improve farmers’ ability to perform their own maintenance as the peak season for autumn mowing approaches.

The training will be held over two days, September 3 and 4, with two sessions each day at 10:00 and 13:00, for a total of four sessions. It will be conducted for 100 farmers and urban residents at the Agricultural Machinery Rental Center, located at 1285 Gonghang-ro, Gangseo-gu, Busan. Agricultural machinery instructors and professional repair instructors will provide both theoretical instruction and safe-use training.

The program will focus on safety practices needed for actual fieldwork, including accident cases and risk factors that may arise during autumn mowing; pre- and post-operation inspection of brush cutters; maintenance of cutting blades and safety devices; proper working posture and mowing techniques; correct use of protective equipment; hazards associated with outdoor work, including bees and snakes; and appropriate responses to emergencies.

A brush cutter consists of an engine unit, power transmission unit, control unit, working unit, and safety devices. It is an agricultural machine that transfers engine power to the cutting blade to remove weeds. Before operation, it is important to inspect the cutting blade, protective cover, drive shaft, fuel system, safety devices, and other components.

In particular, participants will use their own brush cutters to directly inspect and maintain key components such as the cutting blade, protective cover, drive shaft, and fuel system. They will also practice pre- and post-operation inspection procedures, helping them develop the ability to manage their brush cutters independently in the field.

Any citizen who owns a brush cutter may participate in the training. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10:00 on August 25, either in person or by phone at 051-970-3751-3.

After registering in advance, participants should visit the Agricultural Machinery Rental Center on their assigned training date with identification and one brush cutter that they personally use.
