Walking Through Busan’s Memories: Second-Half “Busandaum” Busan Future Heritage Tours to Begin

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Chun Jae-soo, will operate four second-half “Busandaum” themed tours from September through October, offering participants an opportunity to visit sites that embody Busan’s modern and contemporary history and culture together with cultural heritage guides.

The “Busandaum” tour is a program that allows participants to directly experience Busan Future Heritage sites of historical and cultural significance, where the memories and stories of modern and contemporary Busan are preserved, accompanied by cultural heritage guides.

Busan Future Heritage refers to tangible and intangible heritage associated with modern and contemporary Busan that has been experienced and remembered by many citizens and is recognized as worthy of being passed on to future generations.

The second-half program will feature four themed routes, with 20 participants selected for each tour. Applications will be accepted from tomorrow, August 21, through August 30.

Applications can be submitted online through the QR code on the Busan Future Heritage website at https://www.busan.go.kr/futureheritage. Participants will be selected by lottery and notified individually on August 31.

This year’s “Busandaum” tour consists of four themed routes—“Resourcefulness,” “Warmth,” “Fascination,” and “Diversity”—designed to allow participants to walk through Busan and experience its history and culture firsthand with commentary from cultural heritage guides.

In September, the “Resourcefulness” tour on September 19 will highlight Busan’s industrial and commercial heritage, followed by the “Warmth” tour on September 20, which will introduce participants to the city’s long-established everyday culture.

In October, the “Fascination” tour on October 17 will offer opportunities to enjoy Busan’s culture and literature, while the “Diversity” tour on October 18 will visit places including recreational spaces enjoyed by Busan citizens.

All tours will depart from Busan Station and are expected to take approximately three to three and a half hours. Locations and schedules may be subject to partial change depending on on-site conditions.
