Neighborhood Parks Come Alive in Busan… “Busanhan Park Season 2” Park Leisure Program Launches

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Chun Jae-soo, will launch “Busanhan Park Season 2” in earnest from August through December, offering a wide range of park leisure programs, including performances, hands-on activities, events, and wellness programs.

The city has designed leisure programs that make the most of each park’s distinctive features and facilities, enabling residents to enjoy leisure and cultural activities in parks as part of their daily lives.

This year’s park leisure programs will be held at six parks, excluding the eight parks that hosted leisure programs last year in 2025 and the five parks currently participating in the 2026 “Dream Green Expedition” program.

The six participating parks are Myeongji Neighborhood Park in Gangseo-gu, Sasang Neighborhood Park in Sasang-gu, Dongnae Historical Park in Dongnae-gu, Yunbit Park in Geumjeong-gu, Busanjinseong Park in Dong-gu, and Amir Park in Yeongdo-gu.

“Busanhan Park Season 2,” beginning today, August 18, will start with weekday wellness programs at Yunbit Park in Geumjeong-gu, excluding weekends and public holidays, as well as performances at Myeongji Neighborhood Park in Gangseo-gu on August 22, including an unplugged performance, a bubble show, and balloon art. A variety of themed hands-on activities, events, and performances will continue at participating parks through the end of the year.

An unplugged performance is conducted using performers’ natural voices without speakers.

Through leisure programs tailored to the distinctive characteristics of each park, the city plans to provide residents with unique experiences they can enjoy in parks.

Performances are free and open to everyone without advance registration, while wellness programs, hands-on activities, and other events will accept both online and on-site registration.

Kim Chang-deok, Director of the Green City Bureau of Busan Metropolitan City, said, “Our goal is to respond to growing demand for leisure and cultural opportunities by offering residents a diverse range of programs that reflect the distinctive characteristics of each park, transforming parks into everyday spaces for leisure and culture and enhancing citizens’ happiness.”
