Busan Metropolitan City Selects 10 “2026 Busan Star Small Businesses” and Holds Certificate Presentation and Partnership Meeting

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Chun Jae-soo, and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency announced that they have selected 10 businesses as the “2026 Busan Star Small Businesses” and will hold a certificate presentation ceremony and the “100-Day Livelihood Partnership Meeting with Citizens” at 10:20 a.m. today, July 30, at Suwol Gyeonghwa in Songjeong-dong, Haeundae-gu, one of the businesses selected for the 2026 program.

Mayor Chun Jae-soo and representatives of the 10 Star Small Businesses will attend the event to share the project’s progress and engage in dialogue by listening to feedback from business owners.

The Busan Star Small Business program selects outstanding local small businesses that have operated in Busan for at least three years, demonstrate distinction in sectors closely connected to everyday life, including food, apparel and consumer goods, and show strong potential to grow into enterprise-oriented businesses. Candidates are selected through a comprehensive assessment of their business models, competitiveness and other factors.

This year, 336 local small businesses applied for the program, resulting in a highly competitive selection ratio of 34 to 1. Following document reviews, on-site evaluations and presentations, 10 finalists were selected.

The selected businesses are Kkulkkuk House, specializing in makgeolli and traditional alcoholic beverages; Namcheon Myeonga, specializing in perilla oil buckwheat noodles; Luft Mansion, offering apparel and bags; Seok Un-yun, offering adult apparel; Seokjeong Galbi, specializing in fresh pork ribs; Yangsan House, specializing in pork and rice soup; ARF Studio Co., Ltd., offering vegan food; OMG Co., Ltd., specializing in blended tea; Plot Co., Ltd., offering comfortable women’s footwear; and Honey Bro Food, specializing in low-sugar enzyme wellness rice cakes.

Each selected business will receive a certificate and an official plaque. Support will also include a first-year growth grant of KRW 20 million per company, growth strategy consulting, in-depth consulting for applications to national competitive funding programs, KRW 5 million in support for intercompany collaboration, and joint marketing and promotional assistance.

Additional benefits will include a preferential fixed guarantee fee rate of 0.6 percent for small business policy financing, support for market expansion through participation in fairs and exhibitions, and networking opportunities.

Busan Metropolitan City is also pursuing field-oriented public engagement through the “100-Day Livelihood Partnership Meeting with Citizens,” visiting businesses and small business owners to hear about their difficulties and develop solutions.

This meeting will be the fourth held this year. The City plans to review the various opinions presented on-site and incorporate them into future policies supporting small businesses.
