Experience the Beauty of Mugunghwa at the Refreshing Fountain Plaza! 41st National Flower Mugunghwa Exhibition to Be Held

Busan Metropolitan City’s Green City Landscaping Office announced that it will hold the 41st National Flower Mugunghwa Exhibition for three days, from July 24 to 26, around the Fountain Plaza at Song Sang-hyeon Square.

To commemorate Busan’s hosting of the 48th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, the exhibition will showcase 1,070 plants representing approximately 50 varieties of mugunghwa, Korea’s national flower, selected for their exceptional beauty and significance.

The venue will feature 1,070 large mugunghwa plants representing approximately 50 varieties, which Busan Metropolitan City has carefully cultivated over the past 40 years. An event will also be held to distribute 1,200 potted mugunghwa plants to visitors.

A wide range of hands-on programs will help residents become more familiar with the flower. Visitors will be able to appreciate mugunghwa in various ways through a mugunghwa tea tasting, where they can savor its rich fragrance; a fan-making activity, where they can create their own mugunghwa-themed decorative fan; and a mugunghwa planting experience.

Special activities will also help visitors cool off during the midsummer heat. The floor fountain, a popular attraction at Song Sang-hyeon Square, will operate nine times daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., allowing families to enjoy refreshing water play. Cooling fans and beverages will also be provided to exhibition visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
