Replacement of Tunnel Delineator Lights to Require Traffic Control at Yeonsan Tunnel and Daeti Tunnel

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Chun Jae-soo, announced that traffic control measures will be implemented to facilitate the replacement of aging delineator lights in Yeonsan Tunnel and Daeti Tunnel.

The project is intended to improve visibility for motorists traveling through the tunnels and enhance overall traffic safety.

Work at Yeonsan Tunnel will begin tomorrow (July 20) and continue through July 24. To minimize inconvenience during commuting hours, lane closures will take place twice daily, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day.

Work at Daeti Tunnel will be carried out from July 27 through August 14. Because of heavy daytime traffic, lane closures will be limited to nighttime hours, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following day, for eight hours each night.

Partial lane closures will be implemented at both tunnels to minimize inconvenience to the public. Traffic control will not be in effect on weekends or public holidays. The construction work will be carried out by Yuwon Electric Co., Ltd.

Jin Bong-sang, Director of the Construction Safety Testing Office, said, “We will complete the work safely and as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience to the public and shorten the traffic control period. We ask for the public’s understanding and active cooperation during the traffic control period.”
