Integrity in Busan, ON Through Short-Form Videos: Busan Metropolitan City Launches the “Integrity Busan Short-Form Video Contest”

Busan Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the “Integrity Busan Short-Form Video Contest” for all citizens of the Republic of Korea to foster a transparent and ethical culture throughout the public sector.

As one of its key initiatives this year to address areas vulnerable to corruption, the City has identified the elimination of passive administration and improper budget execution as priority tasks. The contest has been organized to incorporate citizens’ creative ideas into municipal administration.

The contest theme is the elimination of unreasonable practices that citizens experience in their daily lives, including passive administration and improper or wasteful budget execution.

Participants are invited to freely produce and submit a 30- to 60-second short-form video presenting ideas for building a more transparent and ethical Busan.

Entries must be submitted as HD or Full HD (1,080 × 1,920 pixels), 9:16 vertical-format video files suitable for posting on social media platforms (SNS), with a running time of 30 to 60 seconds.

The contest is open to any citizen of the Republic of Korea, either as an individual or as a team.

Applicants should complete the application form available in the Notice and Announcement section of the Busan Metropolitan City website and submit it together with the completed video file by email to hyejin4072@korea.kr no later than August 3.

Submitted entries will be evaluated comprehensively based on relevance to the theme, originality, public appeal, and overall quality. A total of 10 outstanding works will be selected in September, with total prize money of KRW 5 million.

The awards are as follows:

• ●Grand Prize: 1 winner (team), KRW 1.5 million

• ●Excellence Prize: 2 winners (teams), KRW 1 million each

• ●Merit Prize: 2 winners (teams), KRW 500,000 each

• ●Encouragement Prize: 5 winners (teams), KRW 100,000 each

The selected works will be used through the City's official social media channels, municipal promotional media, and integrity education content for public officials.

Yoon Hee-yeon, Chair of the Busan Metropolitan City Audit Committee, said, “We expect this contest to provide an opportunity for public officials to reflect on and improve long-standing practices through integrity-focused ideas proposed from the citizens’ perspective. We encourage citizens to show great interest and participate actively as we continue to communicate with the public and do our utmost to build a transparent and ethical Busan.”
