Launches Full-Scale Therapeutic Agriculture Program for Multicultural Communities

Busan Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") announced that it will officially operate its Multicultural Therapeutic Agriculture Program from July 7 to September 1 to help relieve stress and promote the emotional well-being of multicultural families and other vulnerable groups.

The program is being implemented in connection with the 2026 Resident-Proposed Project. In cooperation with local organizations and institutions serving multicultural families and vulnerable groups, the Center will provide customized therapeutic agriculture programs for a total of 200 participants through 10 sessions with 20 participants per session.

This year's program consists of a variety of horticultural activities tailored to the characteristics and needs of each participant group.

In July, the program will begin at the Sasang-gu Family Center and continue at the Asia Community School and the Seo-gu Family Center, serving multicultural families and students. Activities will include creating potted companion plants, making terrariums, preparing seasonal five-color fruit punch, crafting pressed-flower keyrings and picture frames, and designing eco-bags.

The program will continue in August and September at Busan Overseas Chinese Middle and High School, Global International School, and the Yeonje-gu Family Center. Seasonal therapeutic activities will include making hydroponic plant pots, creating flower gift boxes, and crafting preserved flower mood lamps, with programs tailored to participants and the season.

The Center expects that therapeutic agriculture activities will not only contribute to the physical and emotional well-being of multicultural families but also strengthen their sense of belonging and foster meaningful social relationships.

We will continue to expand high-quality therapeutic agriculture programs so that multicultural families can settle successfully as members of the local community and enjoy fulfilling and happy lives."
