Call for Nominations for the 2026 Busan Venture Entrepreneur Award, a Symbol of Innovative Venture Businesses

Busan Metropolitan City announced that it will accept nominations and applications for the 2026 Outstanding Busan Venture Entrepreneur Award from today (July 2) through 6:00 p.m. on July 24.

The Outstanding Busan Venture Entrepreneur Award was established in 2000 and marks its 27th year this year. In accordance with the Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance on the Preferential Treatment of Business Leaders and the Promotion of Business Activities, recipients will receive an Outstanding Entrepreneur Certificate along with preferential treatment and support for three years, including SME operating and development funds and special credit guarantee support.

To be eligible, applicants must operate a company that maintains venture business certification under the Special Act on the Promotion of Venture Businesses as of the application date. In addition, the company must have been established for at least three years and have maintained its principal place of business in Busan for at least one year.

Busan Metropolitan City plans to select the representatives of five companies demonstrating outstanding innovation, technological excellence, growth potential, and future value. Nominations may be submitted by district offices, county offices, and related organizations (associations and institutions), or eligible venture business leaders may apply directly by July 24.

Applicants should refer to the guidelines posted in the Notice section of the Busan Metropolitan City website (www.busan.go.kr/nbgosi) and submit the required application documents either in person or by mail to the Startup Venture Division, 17th Floor, 1001 Jungang-daero, Yeonje-gu, Busan.

Following a document review and on-site company evaluation, Busan Metropolitan City will select five award recipients in October through deliberation by the Public Service Achievement Review Committee. The awards will be presented during the Venture Entrepreneurs' Day ceremony in November.

As of last year (2025), a total of 135 individuals had received the Busan Venture Entrepreneur Award. The five recipients in 2025 were Kim Andre of Korea Liposome Co., Ltd., Yang Jae-wook of iBioKorea Co., Ltd., Kim Jung-soo of EZGEO Co., Ltd., Song Jong-won of Somuna Co., Ltd., and Bae Ho-jin of Sandberg Co., Ltd.
