Global Cultural Festival Bringing Citizens Together: 2026 International Student Festival in Busan to Be Held

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Park Heong-joon, announced that it will host the 2026 International Student Festival in Busan tomorrow (June 27) from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Sajik Asiad Auxiliary Stadium.

The festival is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and jointly organized by the Busan Global City Foundation and the Busan International Student Integrated Support Hub.

Held under the theme “Drop Anchor in Busan, Connect the World: Stay in Busan Connecting the World,” the event will be a global cultural festival where international students and Busan citizens can participate and enjoy together.

In particular, the festival will be held in conjunction with the Busan One Asia Festival (BOF), creating a vibrant cultural celebration where both international students and local citizens come together to enjoy performances and hands-on activities in an atmosphere of unity.

The event will take place at the auxiliary stadium where visitors to the Busan One Asia Festival (BOF) gather before entering the festival, providing international students with opportunities to naturally interact with attendees. Through these exchanges, participants will be able to experience Busan's culture and attractions firsthand while promoting the city's outstanding study-abroad environment to a wider audience.

The festival will also feature a variety of interactive programs that allow participants to experience and enjoy the everyday life and cultures of Busan and countries around the world.

The venue will consist of a main stage featuring opening performances and themed BUSAN Zones.

The main stage will host programs featuring international students, including the Busan International Student Golden Bell Quiz and special K-POP performances.

The BUSAN Zones will offer a wide range of participatory programs, including world food and cultural experiences, K-POP and beauty experiences, and networking programs for international students.

Kim Gwi-ok, Director General of the Youth and Industry-Academia Bureau, said, “This festival will become Busan’s own global cultural celebration created together by global talent and local citizens. We hope many residents will join us and enjoy the festivities together.”

She added, “Busan Metropolitan City will continue to expand a wide range of support policies centered on the Study Busan Hub so that international students can build their future in Busan, from pursuing their studies to establishing long-term residency.”
