A New Purple Healing Landmark Emerges in the Heart of Busan!

Busan Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”) announced that perennial verbena and gaura are now in full bloom at the Daejeo Ecological Park Scenic Agriculture Complex as part of the “2026 Four-Season Scenic Agriculture Complex Development Project Where Nature, Healing, and Landscape Coexist,” receiving an enthusiastic response from citizens as a new healing destination.

This project was launched to create Busan’s representative scenic agriculture complex by utilizing perennial landscape plants such as perennial verbena, gaura, and pampas grass. The project aims to provide beautiful seasonal scenery throughout the year while offering citizens opportunities for rest and healing in a natural environment.

Currently, the approximately 20,000-square-meter scenic agriculture complex is covered with expansive clusters of purple perennial verbena, creating a spectacular view. Together with naturally planted gaura, the site presents a picturesque landscape that attracts large numbers of visitors each day, who come to enjoy walks, take photographs, and spend relaxing moments immersed in nature.

In particular, perennial verbena, a representative perennial flowering plant of summer, is characterized by its long blooming period and outstanding visual impact when planted in large clusters. As an eco-friendly plant that attracts a variety of insects, including bees and butterflies, it also contributes significantly to improving the urban ecological environment.

Meanwhile, pampas grass is also progressing through its growth stages. In the coming autumn, its silver-toned vertical form is expected to further enhance the scenery, offering citizens a beautiful landscape that changes with the seasons throughout the year.

Yu Mi-bok, Director of the Busan Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center, stated, “Perennial verbena is a flower that symbolizes hope and harmony, and its beautiful purple landscape is providing citizens with moments of comfort and healing. Going forward, we will operate healing programs and other initiatives to develop Daejeo Ecological Park into Busan’s leading healing destination as well as a year-round scenic tourism attraction.”
