Busan Metropolitan City Expands and Revamps the “Busan Financial Museum Road” with Tailored Financial Education Programs

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will newly incorporate the Securities Museum (Busan Branch) of Korea Securities Depository into the Busan Financial Museum Road program and reorganize its operating courses into age-specific tracks to better meet participants’ educational needs and enhance the program’s effectiveness.

The Busan Financial Museum Road is a financial education program that connects museums and exhibition facilities operated by financial public institutions within the Busan International Finance Center (BIFC), providing citizens with opportunities for financial and economic education as well as hands-on learning experiences.

The Busan International Financial Promotion Center provides operational support for the program, which is jointly operated by seven organizations, including Busan Metropolitan City, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, BNK Busan Bank, Korea Exchange, the Bank of Korea Busan Branch, and Korea Securities Depository.

The latest reorganization was undertaken to create a customized educational environment that reflects the characteristics of different participant groups and to expand financial education content. In particular, the program has been divided into two age-specific tracks—Kids Road and Master Road—allowing people of all ages, from preschool children to adults, to participate in financial education programs tailored to their developmental stages.

Kids Road is designed for preschool children and includes the Securities Museum of Korea Securities Depository. The course consists of experience-oriented programs that enable children to engage with financial concepts in an easy and enjoyable manner.

Master Road is open to participants from elementary school age through adulthood. It maintains the existing professional financial education framework while offering more in-depth learning opportunities covering financial markets and capital markets.

With the addition of the Securities Museum of Korea Securities Depository, all major financial museums and exhibition facilities located in and around the Busan International Finance Center are now connected through a single integrated financial education platform.

As a result, participants will be able to receive more systematic and comprehensive financial education, covering topics ranging from basic financial concepts to currency, securities, capital markets, and science and technology.

The closer integration of exhibition and experiential facilities operated by major financial institutions is also expected to enhance participants’ overall understanding of finance and strengthen practical financial capabilities applicable to everyday life.

The Busan Financial Museum Road operates every Thursday and Friday with morning sessions from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and afternoon sessions from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Detailed schedules and registration information are available on the program website at https://museumroad.kbfc.or.kr.
