2026 Busan Social Economy Public Procurement Fair to Be Held in the First Half of the Year

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Park Heong-joon, announced that it will hold the “2026 Busan Social Economy Public Procurement Fair (First Half)” tomorrow (June 19) at 10:00 a.m. in the City Hall Grand Conference Hall and lobby.

The event has been organized to create opportunities for interaction between local social economy enterprises and public institutions, support practical purchasing agreements and market expansion, and strengthen public institutions’ awareness of preferential purchasing of products from social economy enterprises.

The social economy encompasses all economic activities conducted to realize shared benefits and social value, including addressing social polarization and creating jobs. Social economy enterprises include preliminary and certified social enterprises, social and general cooperatives, village enterprises, and self-support enterprises.

A total of 49 social economy enterprises and public procurement officers from Busan Metropolitan City, district and county governments, public corporations, public enterprises, and government-funded organizations will participate in the event. Various programs will be offered, including a public procurement information session, one-on-one consultation meetings between public institutions and enterprises, and product exhibitions and a marketplace featuring products from 36 enterprises.

The public procurement information session will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the City Hall Grand Conference Hall and will provide public procurement officers with information on the preferential purchasing system for products from social economy enterprises.

Following the session, one-on-one consultation meetings will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., during which customized consultations between public institutions and social economy enterprises will be conducted according to a pre-arranged schedule.

From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the City Hall first-floor lobby will host a product exhibition and marketplace featuring 36 enterprises, showcasing a wide range of products from social economy enterprises, including food products, household goods, and souvenirs.

In addition, an expert consulting booth for social economy enterprises will be operated, and a commemorative photo event featuring a four-cut photo booth will also be available.

Busan Metropolitan City expects the event to provide citizens with opportunities to experience outstanding products from social economy enterprises, help enterprises increase publicity and expand market access, and improve public institutions’ understanding of and awareness of preferential purchasing from social economy enterprises.
