Release of the First Artist Lineup for the 2026 Busan International Rock Festival

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Park Heong-joon, announced the first lineup of 23 artist teams for the 2026 Busan International Rock Festival, Korea’s longest-running international rock festival, which will be held at Samnak Ecological Park from October 2 to 4.

The Busan International Rock Festival, designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a Preliminary Global Festival, began in 2000 and celebrates its 27th anniversary this year.

The first lineup features a stellar roster of artists, including Avenged Sevenfold, the iconic American heavy metal band with a Billboard No. 1 album; Songgolmae, a living legend of Korean rock music formed in 1979; Creephyp, the popular rock band making its first-ever appearance before Korean audiences since debut; Suchmos, which has attracted tremendous attention from Asian music fans since its reunion; and Hitsujibungaku, one of the leading bands in Japan’s shoegaze scene.

In addition, a diverse lineup of domestic and international artists will take the stage, including CNBLUE, a globally beloved band across Asia; Spacey Jane, one of Australia’s leading next-generation indie rock bands; and Busan-based acts Bandgirin and Hathaw9y, which continue to maintain active music careers.

Meanwhile, Road to BU-ROCK, the pre-festival event that offers audiences an early taste of the Busan International Rock Festival atmosphere, is being successfully held across seven editions this year.

Following successful events held in Busan and Taichung, Taiwan, in May and in Seoul in June, Road to BU-ROCK has showcased the appeal of the Busan International Rock Festival to audiences and heightened anticipation for the main festival.

The event will continue through Gwangju, Jeju, and Ulsan before reaching Fukuoka, Japan, expanding cultural exchange among regions and further promoting the appeal of the Busan International Rock Festival.

In addition, the Busan International Rock Festival, which was recently selected as a Preliminary Global Festival through the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Global Festival Development Program, plans to accelerate efforts to attract international visitors and strengthen its global competitiveness through active overseas promotion and marketing, development of global tourism products, and expansion of multilingual on-site services.

Early-bird tickets, offering festivalgoers a more affordable way to enjoy the Busan International Rock Festival, will go on sale today (June 18) at 2:00 p.m. through YES24 Ticket (ticket.yes24.com).

Available exclusively as three-day passes, early-bird tickets are priced at KRW 212,800, representing a 20 percent discount from the regular price.

For the convenience of visitors traveling from outside the region, package products combining festival admission tickets and shuttle bus transportation are also currently available through the Kakao T application.
