DX Camp 2026 to Launch in Busan Metropolitan City, Strengthening Practical Digital Transformation Skills for Local Youth

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Mayor Park Heong-joon, announced that it will operate the DX Camp 2026 educational program for eight weeks from July 6 to August 28 to strengthen the practical digital transformation capabilities of local youth.

The event is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the Busan Big Data Innovation Center. It has been designed to help local youth, working professionals, and students develop practical skills in handling and applying data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in real-world settings, keeping pace with the latest trends in big data utilization.

The program will be conducted as in-person training at Pathfinder Makerspace Branch (271-5 Geumgang-ro, Geumjeong-gu). Through an intensive eight-week curriculum, participants will experience the full development process of solving real-world problems using data and AI.

Under the theme “Think with Data, Build with AI,” the camp focuses on connecting data to tangible business value. Moving beyond simple coding instruction, the program follows a practical four-stage curriculum centered on collection, design, development, and validation—the core components of big data utilization.

The training curriculum consists of sequential modules covering design thinking, data analysis, vibe coding, and deep learning. Participants will gain hands-on experience throughout the entire process, from problem definition and idea generation to data analysis and AI service planning and implementation, systematically strengthening their capabilities in developing data-driven AI products.

Building on the foundational skills acquired during Weeks 1 through 5, participants will engage in intensive team-based project development during Weeks 6 through 8. Through the DX Campfire community platform, they will benefit from continuous collaboration, documentation, and feedback systems that support autonomous development and the advancement of project outcomes.

To expand participants’ connections with the broader AI and data industry ecosystem, the program will be linked with DIVE 2026. A comprehensive evaluation based on attendance, participation, and final presentations will be conducted to encourage engagement, with Grand Prize and Excellence Awards presented to outstanding teams.

Participation is free of charge and open to anyone interested in big data utilization and AI product development, including youth, employees, and students. Applications may be submitted individually or as teams of two to four members.

Busan Metropolitan City expects that the camp will provide local youth with advanced expertise in data utilization ranging from design thinking to deep learning. Participants are also expected to build practical portfolios and grow into key talents capable of leading smart manufacturing and business process innovation at local companies in the future.

Kim Dong-hyun, Director General of the Future Technology Strategy Bureau, stated, “This camp serves as an important opportunity for participants to work with experts to explore and experience how massive amounts of data can be collected and designed into valuable insights, and how those insights can be developed and validated as actual business products.”

He added, “We expect the program to greatly assist local talent in acquiring practical innovation capabilities through the effective use of data and artificial intelligence.”
