A Half-Day Journey Through Busan’s Past and Present… Recruitment Opens for Participants in the First Half of the Busan Future Heritage “Busan Identity” Tour

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Acting Mayor Kim Kyung-duk, announced that applications for the first-half Busan Future Heritage themed tour program, “2026 Busan Identity,” accompanied by cultural interpreters, will be accepted from May 27 to June 14.

The “Busan Identity” tour is a program that allows participants to directly experience Busan Future Heritage sites with cultural interpreters, highlighting the memories and stories of modern and contemporary Busan and their historical and cultural significance.

Busan Future Heritage refers to tangible and intangible assets remembered and experienced by many citizens that hold value worthy of preservation for future generations.

Since 2019, Busan Metropolitan City has selected a total of 108 Future Heritage assets through 2025 and has been promoting the Busan Future Heritage initiative to preserve and utilize them as public assets connecting Busan’s past, present, and future.

The first-half 2026 tour consists of six themed courses, with 20 participants selected for each session.

In June, the program will feature:
“Wonder” (June 20), tracing the memories of Busan as the wartime capital;
“Vitality” (June 21), experiencing the energy of the port and sea; and
“Honor” (June 27), reflecting on Busan’s spirit of protection and resistance.

In July, the program will conclude with:
“Romance” (July 4), a nighttime tour enjoying Busan’s nightscape;
“Relaxation” (July 5), a healing course in the heart of the city; and
“Abundance” (July 11), exploring the everyday culture of Busan citizens.

Each course will be conducted as a bus tour guided by cultural interpreters, visiting Future Heritage sites across Busan, including the hillside roads, Yeongdo, Haeundae, and Busan Citizens Park.

Each course will last approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, and schedules and locations may be partially adjusted depending on on-site conditions.

Applications can be submitted online via the QR code available on the Busan Future Heritage website (https://www.busan.go.kr/futureheritage), and selected participants will be notified individually after a drawing.
