Busan Metropolitan City and Busan IPark Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Promote Family-Friendly Leisure Culture

Busan Metropolitan City, led by Acting Mayor Kim Kyung-duk, announced that it will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Busan IPark, represented by CEO Kang Min-gu, today (May 14) at 3:00 p.m. at the Busan Children’s Complex Cultural Space (hereinafter referred to as “Deullak Nallak”) located on the first floor of City Hall.

The signing ceremony will be attended by Seong Heui-yeob, Vice Mayor for Future Innovation of Busan Metropolitan City; Kang Min-gu, CEO of Busan IPark; Busan IPark forward Baek Ga-on; and goalkeeper Gu Sang-min.

The agreement was prepared to promote children’s healthy growth and expand family-friendly leisure culture centered around Deullak Nallak spaces established throughout the city, while enabling the two organizations to cooperate in creating a cultural and sports environment that citizens can enjoy in their daily lives.

Through this agreement, Busan Metropolitan City plans to cooperate with Busan IPark to organize soccer playground programs at Deullak Nallak and to discover and promote a variety of cultural and sports events.

The main contents of the agreement include operating the Deullak Nallak Kickoff Soccer Playground with Busan IPark, jointly promoting Deullak Nallak and Busan IPark, co-organizing cultural and sports programs for children and families, and pursuing projects requiring cooperation for the mutual development of both organizations.

Following the signing ceremony, the “Deullak Nallak Soccer Playground” program featuring Busan IPark players Baek Ga-on and Gu Sang-min will be held on the lawn at the Sky Park on the fourth floor of City Hall. Conducted as a one-day class, the program will involve approximately 20 children and their parents who registered in advance through the Deullak Nallak website.

Meanwhile, Deullak Nallak has been developed since 2021, with 110 locations established across Busan Metropolitan City, including 99 currently in operation.

Created by utilizing idle urban spaces as family-friendly venues, Deullak Nallak received the grand prize for outstanding sustainable urban innovation practices at the “SDG City Awards” hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). In 2025 alone, approximately 2.4 million visitors used the facilities, demonstrating strong public support as a nearby family-friendly space for leisure and hands-on experiences.
