Busan Metropolitan City, under Acting Mayor Kim Kyung-duk, announced that it will hold a kick-off report meeting today (May 12) at 10:00 a.m. in the Video Conference Room on the 7th floor of City Hall to begin the full-scale 추진 of the “2026 Seven Bridges Tour” project.

The meeting will be attended by major related organizations, including Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, the Busan Coast Guard, Busan Fire & Disaster Headquarters, Busan Infrastructure Corporation, BEXCO, and the Busan Sports Council, to ensure the successful preparation of the “Seven Bridges Tour,” scheduled to take place on September 20.

During the meeting, participating organizations will share the event’s master plan, traffic control measures, safety plans, and public promotion strategies, while strengthening inter-agency cooperation systems.

In particular, in 2026, the City plans to recruit participants from major overseas cities to further internationalize the event and provide citizen participation programs that families and residents can enjoy together.

To expand the event into a global sports tourism content platform, Busan Metropolitan City signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA) on April 28 to establish a cooperative framework for attracting domestic and international tourists and promoting the event overseas.

In addition, the City plans to offer a variety of citizen participation content to create a festival atmosphere that many residents can enjoy together.

Kim Wan-sang, Director General of the Sports Bureau of Busan Metropolitan City, stated, “‘Seven Bridges Tour’ will go beyond being a simple sports event and become Busan’s signature sports tourism content that combines sports and tourism. We hope it will also contribute to revitalizing the local economy through connections with regional industries.”

He added, “As the scale of the event continues to grow amid enthusiastic responses from international media outlets and participants, we will prioritize safety above all else in preparing for the event.”
