Call for Applications: “2026 Model Companies (Organizations) for Gender-Equal Employment”

Busan Metropolitan City announced that it will hold a public call for the “2026 Model Companies (Organizations) for Gender-Equal Employment” to foster a workplace environment where men and women can work on equal terms and to promote a corporate culture that supports work-life balance.

Eligibility for application is open to companies (organizations) regardless of industry or size, provided they have been located in Busan for at least two years, employ 20 or more workers, and maintain a workforce with at least 30% women.

Evaluation criteria include improvement of gender equality in employment, vocational skills development, prevention of workplace sexual harassment and grievance handling, implementation of parental protection systems and work-life balance measures, as well as the level of interest and commitment from management. Final selection will be made after a comprehensive assessment based on these criteria.

Companies selected as model companies will receive a commendation plaque from the Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City and a certification signboard valid for three years. In addition, they will be eligible for recommendation as “Busan Metropolitan City Outstanding Companies.” If designated as such, they may receive benefits and support including financial assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises, special credit guarantee support, and priority participation in overseas exhibitions.

The application period runs until May 15. Interested companies (organizations) may submit applications by mail or email (aduckling@korea.kr) after referring to the official notice on the Busan Metropolitan City website (https://www.busan.go.kr/nbgosi).

Following the application deadline, Busan Metropolitan City will conduct an internal review by an evaluation committee composed of experts. The final two companies will be selected by the Public Review Committee and awarded during the Gender Equality Week ceremony in September.
