Busan Metropolitan City to Host Special Expert Lecture on Enhancing Awareness and Capacity in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the Public Sector

Busan Metropolitan City announced that it will hold a special expert lecture titled “Enhancing Awareness and Capacity in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the Public Sector” today (29th) at 10:00 a.m. in the City Hall Grand Auditorium, targeting employees of the city, districts and counties, and public corporations and agencies.

This lecture has been organized to expand the “Busan-style AI services” currently being promoted by the city, introduce cases of AI transformation (AX) in the public sector, and explore strategies for innovation in public administration.

The lecture will be delivered by Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of AI company FortyTwoMaru and a member of the Public AI Transformation (AX) Subcommittee of the National AI Strategy Committee.

As an expert with a comprehensive understanding of national-level AI policies and industrial ecosystems, CEO Kim is expected to present strategies and directions for AI transformation (AX) that connect the public and industrial sectors.

The main content of the lecture will include the latest AI technologies, application cases across industries such as manufacturing engineering, finance, legal, and healthcare, as well as AI transformation (AX) cases in the public sector including pan-government AI common infrastructure, defense, the defense industry, and local governments. It will also propose concrete directions for innovation in public administration.

Park Geun-rok, Director General of the Administrative Affairs Bureau, stated, “Artificial intelligence is no longer a domain reserved for a few experts, but an essential competency that public officials must possess,” adding, “We hope this lecture will serve as an opportunity for public officials to enhance their understanding of AI technologies and apply them across administrative services to create innovative public services that citizens can truly experience.”
