Busan Metropolitan City to Support Growth of the Franchise Industry… Launches “Basic Franchise Startup Training”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will operate the “Basic Franchise Startup Training” program for prospective entrepreneurs who wish to start a franchise business, in order to support the growth of the local franchise industry.

This training is part of the franchise industry revitalization initiative and has been designed to enhance understanding of franchise startups and provide practical information necessary for preparing franchise businesses, thereby supporting stable business launches.

The training is structured to systematically cover the entire process from the preparation stage to actual operation. The main curriculum includes understanding the franchise business structure and analyzing individual startup conditions, legal aspects of franchise business and step-by-step contract practices, and operational know-how for franchise stores. It is expected to strengthen the practical capabilities of prospective entrepreneurs.

In particular, the training is fully funded by Busan Metropolitan City and offered free of charge, allowing participants to attend without financial burden, and is operated as a practice-oriented program.

The program will consist of four sessions, each lasting five hours, starting with the first session on May 8, followed by June 12, July 10, and September 11. All sessions will be conducted with the same content. Each session will run from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and participants may select and attend one session according to their preferred schedule.

Any citizen interested in starting a franchise business may participate, and applications for the first session will be accepted until May 1. Up to 80 participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis through the Korea Franchise Association Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch website (www.kfabug.or.kr).

Meanwhile, Busan Metropolitan City, in cooperation with the Korea Franchise Association Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch, operates the “Franchise Academy” and the “Franchise Supervisor Training Program” once each in the first and second half of every year to revitalize the local economy through the growth of the franchise industry.

Kim Bong-cheol, Assistant Mayor of Digital Economy Office, stated, “Through the Basic Franchise Startup Training in Busan, we will support prospective entrepreneurs in improving their understanding of the franchise industry and starting their businesses in a stable manner,” adding, “We will continue to expand practice-oriented training programs to strengthen the competitiveness of local entrepreneurs and actively promote the revitalization of the franchise industry.”
