Busan Metropolitan City to Host “2026 Busan International Boat Show”

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it will host the “2026 Busan International Boat Show” for three days from tomorrow (April 17) to April 19 at BEXCO and the Suyeong River area, in collaboration with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

The event is jointly hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and co-organized by the Korea Marine Leisure Network, BEXCO, and the Korea Marine Equipment Industry Association.

Launched in 2014 with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of Korea’s marine leisure industry and popularizing marine sports, the Busan International Boat Show marks its 12th edition this year.

At BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1, 146 marine leisure tourism-related companies will present a wide range of exhibits. Visitors will be able to explore the latest equipment and technologies across the marine leisure sector in one place, including yachts and boats, communication and safety equipment, and fishing gear.

Business consultation sessions will also be held at booths and meeting areas, bringing together 21 buyers from 18 companies across nine countries in Europe and Asia. Through these sessions, the city plans to support domestic companies in entering overseas markets while also providing opportunities to expand sales channels through consultations with local buyers.

In addition, an international conference will be held under the theme “The Current Status and Outlook of the Global Boat Industry in the AI Era,” along with screenings from the International Ocean Film Festival.

On April 17, the international conference will explore the development direction of Korea’s marine leisure industry amid rapidly changing industrial environments, while from April 18 to 19, selected films from the International Ocean Film Festival will be specially screened.

Various indoor and outdoor marine leisure experience programs available at BEXCO and near the Haeundae River Cruise on the Suyeong River have also been further expanded.

At the indoor exhibition hall of BEXCO, visitors can enjoy a range of hands-on marine leisure activities, including stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), inflatable boat rides, rowing machines, and surfing experiences. There will also be virtual reality (VR) programs promoting marine safety culture, as well as safety experience programs covering life jacket use and first aid.

At the Haeundae River Cruise on the Suyeong River, visitors who complete the BEXCO stamp tour will be offered free yacht ride experiences, and two yacht boarding sessions will be operated for international visitors.

The opening ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (April 17) at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1.

Approximately 50 attendees, including representatives from Busan Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the Korea Marine Leisure Network, and citizens, will participate. The ceremony will proceed in the following order: welcome remarks and congratulatory speeches, presentation of the Boat of the Year Awards, and a tour of the exhibition hall.
